Sir Stamford Raffles is well known for its Visionary Urban City Planning of Singapore as a free Trade center. He is able to foresee the strategic location of Singapore early in the 1800s, trades start to flow between Asia and Europe as the Sea trade route between the East and the West start to blossom in the 19th century
Some also known him as a keen natural scientist with interest in plants . Even built the London zoo and several attempt for the Botanical Garden Singapore. He planted the seed as a naturalist in Singapore, a very early Botanic Garden.
The Less well known is his pre Singapore Founder Days. 10,000 British Red Coat Soldier conquering Dutch Java. So before he is the founder of Singapore, He is officially the Governor of Java for a period
